Diocese of Albany formally joins Network
The clergy and people of the Episcopal Diocese of Albany formally voted to affiliate with the Network of Anglican Communion Dioceses and Parishes during their diocesan convention on June 12.
Despite organized opposition from members of the diocese’s Via Media group, the motion to affiliate passed by nearly a four to one margin among the diocesan clergy and by a comfortable 60 percent of the lay delegates.
The Episcopal Diocese of Albany includes 19 New York counties, 129 parishes and some 20,000 Episcopalians.
