SAMS Short-Term Mission Training
Pittsburgh, PA, February 16–18, 2008 (President’s Day Weekend)
Short-term mission is all about partnership and good partners benefit from preparation. Since 1993 The South American Missionary Society has been sending short-term mission teams to partner with our missionaries and site coordinators in Latin America, Spain and Uganda. SAMS has a commitment to our missionaries and site coordinators to place good and Godly teams with them who will not only provide necessary and valuable support to their projects, but reflect Christian values as well.
Concurrently, SAMS is committed to provide worthwhile and tangible Christian short-term experiences to teams while they interact with their hosts in the field. Because of our commitment to sending and receiving the best teams possible, SAMS training is required for the leaders of all SAMS’ short-term mission teams.
SAMS’ training prepares a well qualified team through team selection, team building, budget and fundraising, cross cultural orientation, spiritual development, logistics, de-briefing, and what to expect once your team returns home. Training also prepares the sending church to field a solid mission team. Church revitalization is common when church members work together to send a Godly team who has the support of their home church.
The training content is easily transferable to cultures outside of SAMS’ purview and is attended by churches who do not work directly with SAMS missionaries. For additional information about our training seminars or to register online please visit our website www.sams-usa.org or contact Lynn Bouterse in the SAMS office at 724–266–0669 or e-mail LynnBouterse@sams-usa.org. This training is educational, interactive, and fun!
