ACN Thanks Financial Supporters

As it prepares for the 75th General Convention of the Episcopal Church USA, the Anglican Communion Network would like to thank the individuals, families, parishes and dioceses that have prayed for, encouraged and financially supported the Network out of their desire to help achieve its mission of keeping North American Anglicans connected to the mainstream of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

During its most recently completed fiscal year, 89% of the Network’s operating budget funding was given by individuals and parishes. A further 10% came from the Network’s 10 affiliated dioceses. Less than one-half of one percent of annual revenues came from foundations. The largest gift from an individual represented only 3% of the ACN 2005 budget. Similar results are expected during the current fiscal year. All contributions to the Network are voluntary. There is no charge for clergy, parishes or dioceses to affiliate or partner with the Network. There are no affiliation dues and no mandatory giving is assessed.

“We are committed to being good stewards of the resources our donors have entrusted to us as we work to build a biblical, missionary and uniting Anglican Communion Network,” said Daryl Fenton, Chief Operating Officer. “We are committed to keeping the Network financially lean and mission-focused.”

To date in 2006, 40% of the monies raised by the ACN, through the separate fundraising efforts of the Anglican Relief and Development Fund Trustees, have provided funding for Global South relief and development projects. Since its inception in 2004, $1.8 million in projects have been funded by ARDF that include 59 relief, development, and ministry projects in 20 countries around the globe.

The balance of monies raised so far in 2006 are designated for support of the Network’s operating budget that funds ministry initiatives such as church planting, missions, and children and youth as well as conferences and communications which enable it to keep orthodox Anglicans connected to each other and Gospel-centered. The budget also supports the visionary and administrative work of the Network, as well as the work of the ACN convocations across the United States. The Network goal is that 50% of all funds raised go to mission and outreach in this country and throughout the worldwide Anglican Communion.

“Following General Convention in June, we have every indication that our work will significantly increase,” said Wicks Stephens, Network Chancellor. “The continued financial support of those who share our vision to stand for biblical orthodoxy will keep us moving forward. We invite your continued prayers and financial support.”
